Anna-Kay Davis came to the Red Cross as an intern. During that time she helped the organization implement a pilot campaign called the Pillowcase Project, which teaches young children about preparedness, as well as attended and spoke at community events. For both projects, Anna diligently came into the office and provided an astounding 400 hours of support to the Red Cross.
The Delmarva goal for the Pillowcase Project was to teach the program to 5,000 children and create help them create pillow cases which are essentially disaster preparedness kits for youth. Anna was determined to surpass that goal, which she successful did! She personally went to schools and lead presentations. She drove from to the southern part of the Delmarva Chapter to deliver supplies, organized the inventory and supported the online pillowcase “groupshare” site.
Anna will be known to many of the students throughout Delaware for helping them be prepared and stay safe. Many students have submitted thank you letters that are now hanging on the walls as a testament that Anna has made a difference in their lives. Thank you Anna for all that you do!
