Caroline brings an incredible amount of Red Cross experience and will be a tremendous advocate for the organization and the people it helps in our communities

Caroline King has been promoted to Executive Director of the Northern and Eastern Chapter of the American Red Cross in Maine.

In this role, King will work to increase the community’s awareness, participation, and commitment to the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross. She will also lead the Chapter’s fundraising efforts, working closely with its local board of directors.

King will help build the Red Cross’ capacity to delivery services in the community— such as assisting those impacted by home fires and other emergencies— through the engagement of volunteers and community partners.

“Caroline brings an incredible amount of Red Cross experience and will be a tremendous advocate for the organization and the people it helps in our communities,” says Board Chair Jillian Saucier of TD Bank.

King has been with the Red Cross in a variety of roles since 1994 when she started as a college intern and volunteer at the Western Illinois Chapter. Her roles have included supporting our Services to the Armed Forces, Disaster Services, and as Interim Chapter Executive in Mid-Coast. Most recently, King served as a Major Gifts Officer for the state, responsible for building and managing Maine foundations grant program, as well as the Town Allocation program.

The Northern and Eastern Chapter is based in Bangor, with an office in Caribou.

King, and her husband, Michael, are relocating from Madrid to the Bangor area.
