Red Cross Teams Up with Community to Host Planning Summits for Potential Floods

ALLEGAN, Mich., Monday, April 7, 2014 — The American Red Cross of West Michigan is preparing for potential floods this spring by teaming up with local relief organizations and government agencies to host several Community Agency Planning Summits. One upcoming summit is being scheduled for agencies in Allegan County at the following time and location:

Wednesday, April 9th, 1:00-4:00pm

Summits already held in Ionia, Kent, Ottawa, Newaygo, Kalamazoo, and Calhoun Counties have drawn more than 85 agencies together to identify and develop strategies to meet community needs in the event of flooding. The summits also encouraged organizations to prepare themselves and their clients for the impact of a flood.


The summit in Allegan County is being hosted by the Red Cross of West Michigan and Allegan County Emergency Management.
