The American Red Cross of Branch and Calhoun Counties is hosting its first meeting for the Red Cross Club of Calhoun County on Wednesday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m.
The Red Cross Club is open to anyone in Calhoun County between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. The first meeting will take place at the American Red Cross office located at 14600 Beadle Lake Road in Battle Creek.
“We are so excited to get this Red Cross Club up and running,” said Katy Lagoni, branch manager for the American Red Cross of Branch and Calhoun Counties. “The American Red Cross has been around for more than 130 years and we’re excited to get a new generation involved and engaged with what we do in our communities and beyond.”
The club is a group that provides teenagers with opportunities to make a difference by addressing their community’s greatest needs and developing leadership skills. Red Cross Clubs empower its members with knowledge and life-saving skills to help prepare schools and communities to respond to emergencies.
