Red Cross to Open Multi-Agency Resource Center for Those Affected by Newaygo Flooding

NEWAYGO, Mich., April 21— The American Red Cross of West Michigan will be operating a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for anyone affected by the recent flooding in Newaygo.


The MARC will be located at St. Bartholomew’s Church at 599 W. Brooks Street in Newaygo. Representatives from private and public disaster relief agencies will be available to help those affected by the flooding. The center will be open April 23-26 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.


Types of assistance available at the Multi-Agency Resource Center include:


  • Red Cross Cleanup Kits
  • Muck out and debris removal
  • Tree removal
  • Dumpsters
  • Food, water, clothing, and household needs
  • Housing assistance
  • Restoration, rebuilding and repairs
  • Legal assistance
  • Low cost loans


In response to the flooding, the Red Cross of West Michigan has delivered over 50 clean-up kits and 73 cases of water to those in need.
