Red Cross Assisting Families after Tragic Duplex Fire

Our hearts go out to everyone touched by this tragedy.

The American Red Cross is assisting three adults and four children after a tragic duplex fire on the 2800 block of Colfax Ave North early Friday morning. The Red Cross helps provide disaster relief for immediate recovery needs, such as shelter, clothing, food, and emotional support.

"Our hearts go out to everyone touched by this tragedy," said Phil Hansen, CEO for the Northern Minnesota Region of the American Red Cross. "We've mobilized disaster health and mental health volunteers to connect with families and support them in the wake of this tragedy."

About the American Red Cross: The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides nearly half of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission.
