Atlantic City Electric Holds Two Employee Blood Drives for ARC
Our employees have overwhelmingly signed up to donate blood to help replenish an ever depleting inventory.

The American Red Cross is the nation’s largest blood collection organization, supplying approximately 40 percent of the blood and blood products used in our country.  Although an estimated 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, less than 10% do each year.

Last week Atlantic City Electric and American Red Cross teamed up for two blood drives at the Carney’s Point and Mays Landing offices of Atlantic City Electric.  Employees at the Mays Landing facility were greeted by Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter BOD member and Atlantic City Electric employee, Charles Wimberg in a full size “Blood Drop” costume who thanked those who donated.  Red Cross Southern Shore BOD members and Carol Cohen the chapter ED were also on hand and donated blood at the Mays Landing drive.  “Blood is a lifesaving necessity for all of us. Blood donors are people with a generous spirit and those who genuinely care for others.” said Carol Cohen, Southern Shore Chapter Executive Director. “Atlantic City Electric is a strong community partner with Red Cross and this is one more way they demonstrate that partnership.”

After making his donation Thursday, Atlantic City Electric Region President Vincent Maione stated: “Atlantic City Electric is proud to be able to support the American Red Cross the last two days at our blood drives here in Mays Landing and at Carneys Point.  Our employees have overwhelmingly signed up to donate blood to help replenish an ever depleting inventory.  We have a wonderful relationship with American Red Cross.  We often partner with them to assist our local friends and neighbors in our communities during times of need. When they ask for our help, we deliver!”
