This is the 12th year for the event in honor of Danielle Brender, a seemingly healthy 11-year-old who died after suffering Sudden Cardiac Arrest on April 15, 2000. Danielle’s death was attributed to Long QT Syndrome, an electrical disturbance in the heart. Her parents were not aware she had this condition and since her death, three of her four siblings, as well as a parent and grandparent, have been diagnosed with this disorder. Danielle’s parents, Sharon & Avi Brender, founded the Danielle Brender Fund, Inc. in her memory. Each year, the Brenders arrange to have American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED training available to arm community members with lifesaving skills to help others. Registration is required.

Participants will learn how to perform CPR and use an AED, what to do if someone is choking, and how to respond to emergencies until advanced medical help arrives. This event is open to the public. Walk-ins will also be accepted at the special $20 rate if space is available.
