ALBANY, NY (November 19, 2013) In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the American Red Cross will be handing out free turkey dinners this weekend to residents in areas that were affected by the summer flooding in Fort Plain.

The event begins with mobile feedings in the Valley View neighborhood. After that a fixed feeding site will be set up at Haslett Park for as long as the meals last.
In June, heavy flooding ravaged Montgomery County with Fort Plain being one of the hardest hit areas. During the flooding, many Fort Plain homes and business were destroyed.
Javier Rodriguez of Javier’s Latino Cuisine of Saratoga Springs will donate the turkey dinners. Rodriguez, a board member of the Adirondack Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross, will be at the event to serve food along with several other volunteers and board members from the Northeastern New York and the Adirondack Saratoga Chapters.
