Volunteers from the American Red Cross Services to Armed Forces team were proud to support the New York State Mission of Mercy (NYSMoM) earlier this month. A first of its kind in New York State, the NYSMoM was a free, two-day dental clinic held to provide oral health services and education to people who, for many reason, lack access to dental care.

The Services to Armed Forces (SAF) team from the Northeastern New York Region worked with Jim Haggerty from Congressman Chris Gibson’s office to spread the word about the NYSMoM to veterans in need of dental care. Red Cross volunteers also provided on-site support throughout the two-day event.

Launched by the New York State Dental Association and New York State Dental Foundation, together with national partner Mission of Mercy, the NYSMoM was held at Hudson Valley Community College in the Edward F. McDonough Sports Complex on June 13 and 14.
