The Western New York Families of September 11th, in partnership with the American Red Cross, Serving Erie & Niagara Counties, will be honoring the memory of the lives lost in the September 11th, 2001 attacks with their annual flag tribute on the front lawn of the Clement Mansion.
The flag tribute is currently set up outside the American Red Cross headquarters at 786 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, and will remain on display through the next week. An individual flag has been placed on lawn to represent each of the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks on September 11, 2001.
“We created this tribute so that Western New Yorkers can remember every year how many lives were lost in the attacks of September 11th, 2001,” said Leigh Macadlo, a member of the Western New York Families of September 11th. “We want to remember each innocent person whose life was ended so abruptly and tragically, and honor the extraordinary sacrifice of responders who gave their lives for others that day.”
The flag display will remain on the lawn of the Clement Mansion through September 22.
