Red Cross Responding to Building Collapse in Lockport

Red Cross Flag

The American Red Cross, Serving Erie & Niagara Counties is currently assisting 17 people following a building collapse on the 6500 block of Lincoln Place in Lockport Friday evening. Volunteers Henrietta Hady and Diane Sargent have provided hotel vouchers for five families, and it is possible that additional residents will seek assistance as the situation develops. Red Cross assistance typically includes vouchers for temporary housing, food and clothing, and trained Disaster Mental Health workers will be available to provide emotional support to the residents.

The American Red Cross, Serving Erie & Niagara Counties spends an average of just over $1,000 when responding to a disaster affecting a family of four.  To support people affected by house fires and other disasters, please consider making a donation to the Disaster Relief Fund at, by calling 1-800-REDCROSS, or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation (charges will appear on your cell phone bill).
