The American Red Cross is working with officials from Wyoming County to make free clean-up kits available to area residents affected by flash flooding over the weekend. The kits include mops, buckets, bleach and more to help residents as they clean up after this weekend’s storms.
The clean-up kits will be available beginning Wednesday morning at the Wyoming County Health Department, 5362 Mungers Mill Road in Silver Springs. Residents are asked to call 585-786-8890 to schedule a pickup.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross met early Sunday morning with seven people displaced by flooding in Warsaw, providing temporary housing for one person, and caseworkers continue to follow up with those affected to assess any ongoing needs.
Nearly every second of every day, the Red Cross delivers help and hope after flooding, home fires and other disasters. We couldn’t be there without the generous support of the American public. Today, June 2, join the American Red Cross for our inaugural Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising campaign to support those in need in communities across the country. Together, let’s go “all in” and make one day count. Make your donation today for Giving Day at redcross.org/givingday. You can also help build awareness by using the hashtag #allin1day on Twitter and Facebook.
