Red Cross Responds to Uniondale Blaze

Red Cross Assists More than a Dozen Families Following Bronx Fire.

American Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire late Friday evening, June 6, 2014, at a senior citizen housing complex in Uniondale, N.Y. The blaze began around 8 p.m. in a ground floor apartment, and damaged four units in total. Two buildings (16 units) in the complex were left without power and all residents were temporarily evacuated. The Red Cross provided emergency funds for food and clothing to all residents displaced from the four units. All displaced residents were relocated by the local housing authority.
