On Saturday June 13, 150 Citi employees took part in the Company’s 10th annual Global Community Day at the American Red Cross regional headquarters in Manhattan.
Citi volunteers assembled 2,500 comfort kits that are now being distributed to military personnel at area VA hospitals as part of the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces program. Each kit contains hygiene items along with a “Thank You For Serving” card written by a Citi employee.
“Thank you Citi for your ongoing commitment of our mission,” said Josh Lockwood, Regional CEO, Greater NY Red Cross.
The event was one of hundreds taking place across the world as part of Citi’s Global Community Day.
Among the Citi volunteers assembling comfort kits and writing cards at the Red Cross was Citi CEO, Michael Corbat.
"As a company, we have shown that our commitment to the communities we serve includes giving our time and energy," said Corbat. "Global Community Day is now a decade-long tradition of Citi employees, friends and family working alongside community and non-profit partners to help improve our cities and neighborhoods."
