744 people took part in the 2nd Annual “Run for the Red” Twilight 5k Thursday in Canandaigua, raising approximately $15,000 to benefit American Red Cross disaster relief efforts.
The runners enjoyed a beautiful course through Lagoon Park and along Canandaigua Lake as the sun set, followed by a party at the Inn on the Lake featuring live music from the band Naked Grey, drinks provided by Genesee and Ryan’s Wine & Spirits and food from various local vendors, including Wegmans.
Cash prizes were awarded to the first and second place overall male and female finishers. The first place finishers in each age division received medals.
This year’s Twilight 5K also featured a number of running teams, including over 35 runners from Thompson Health as well as 25 runners from LL Bean, who ran in memory of a colleague who passed away this year.
