After Floods, Red Cross Volunteers Are Heading Home

The American Red Cross has been helping people in our community when they needed it most
“The Red Cross will continue to be here as they always have and the local Red Cross volunteers will continue to provide for those in need" said Jennifer Balog, Mohawk Valley Chapter Executive.

For more than 130 years the Central New York Region of the American Red Cross has been helping people in our community when they needed it most. When the floods happened on June 28th the local red cross responded immediately by setting up shelters, providing a warm meal and distributing thousands of relief supplies. All efforts were made possible by the generous gifts of time, money and resources from friends and neighbors right here at home and all across the country. Hundreds of Red Cross volunteers came to lend a hand in the early stages of this disaster providing resources to those affected. As the community needs are being met, the visiting Red Cross volunteers will return home. “The Red Cross will continue to be here as they always have and the local Red Cross volunteers will continue to provide for those in need” said Jennifer Balog, Mohawk Valley Chapter Executive.
