Battle of Badges Tournament Benefits American Red Cross

The Richmondville Fire Department team captured the Third Annual Battle of the Badges Tournament championships.

The American Red Cross would like to thank Little Falls Firefighter Dennis Harrigan for his dedication and leadership in organizing this community event.

The Third Annual Battle of the Badges 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to benefit the American Red Cross was held April 27 at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls. The annual tournament consists of teams comprised of individuals from area police and fire departments who have a passion for basketball tournament play.

Teams from the following agencies participated: American Red Cross, East Herkimer Fire Department, Ilion Police Department, Little Falls Fire Department, Little Falls Police Department, Richmondville Fire Department, Rome Fire Department, Schuyler Fire Department and Stittville Fire Department.

The Richmondville Fire Department won the tournament. Team members consisted of Kyle Butler, Joe Kenyon and George Sommers.

The Battle of the Badges Tournament is an annual fundraising event that benefits the American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley and helps support Red Cross services in our local communities. These programs include Disaster Services, Services to Armed Forces, Preparedness, and Health and Safety.

The American Red Cross would like to thank Little Falls Firefighter Dennis Harrigan for his dedication and leadership in organizing this community event, which raised $400 for the Red Cross.
