A well-known Central Ohio family, representing multiple generations of descendants of the founder of Crane Plastics, has been selected to receive the highest honor bestowed annually by the American Red Cross Central-Southeast Ohio Region. The Crane family has supported dozens of causes ranging from arts and education to health care and humanitarian efforts through their wide-ranging philanthropy and board participation. They’ll receive the honor at the annual Humanitarian of the Year luncheon to be held Tuesday, June 3rd at the Hyatt Regency Columbus.
“Central Ohio is truly a lucky community to have a family like the Cranes,” said Matt Bertram, CEO, American Red Cross Central-Southeast Ohio Region. “Their devotion to improving the overall quality of life has made a remarkable impact across so many different kinds of charities, that it might be tough to find someone who wasn’t helped by their generosity. Twelve years ago we recognized Loann Crane and we’re delighted to now include additional members of the family in our most significant honor of the year.”
The Humanitarian of the Year luncheon celebrates the core principle of the American Red Cross – compassion and care for those who need it. It also helps continue the critical community services of the Red Cross Central-Southeastern Ohio Region, which provides disaster relief, emergency communications for military families, classes in world-class life-saving skills and preparedness education to keep our communities safe.
