Barbara is a single mother, with six children from ages 4 to 17, three of whom have learning disabilities. Needless to say she has her hands full every day. When a tornado cut through Norman on May 6th, the storm flooded her home with almost three feet of water, making it completely uninhabitable. They lost everything and for more than a week, she and her children were scattered among family and friends.
Barbara knew she could turn to the American Red Cross for help.
The Red Cross got her situated in a hotel so she could be reunited with her family and provided her with the resources necessary to provide for herself and her children. Red Cross case worker Peggy Ganes is working with her to get provide the resources so she can move into to her new rental home and get her family on the road to recovery.
