Red Cross Helping With Clean Up in Logan County

I hope to find rings belonging to my deceased wife and guns handed down to me by my father

A fire can be devastating. It will take everything and leave only ashes behind. That’s the reality for many residents in Logan County.

The Red Cross is helping these families with their recovery by supplying cleaning tools like shovels, gloves and masks. Perhaps one of the most important tools being provided to the families is a sifter box built by the Boy Scouts a couple of years ago. These boxes will help families go through the ashes to find lost items.

“I hope to find rings belonging to my deceased wife and guns handed down to me by my father,” a client told a Red Cross caseworker.

Volunteers are also out in the neighborhoods providing these supplies along with snacks and water.

“I am honored to help these families,” said Red Cross volunteer Gail Holland.
