Red Cross To Help Prepare Hundreds of Moore Residents

On Saturday, November 15, 2014, The American Red Cross plans to give out hundreds of weather radios and preparedness kits to residents affected by the May 2013 spring storms. Volunteers will be in Moore, Oklahoma at the Southgate Baptist Church for the distribution of these lifesaving items.

The Red Cross is identifying families affected by the May 2013 tornadoes and will provide them with a kit containing a weather radio, first aid kit, preparedness information and a flashlight. For families that do not qualify for the kits, the Red Cross will be providing 300 free weather radios. Radio will be given to one per family.

Also at the event, the Oklahoma Tornado Foundation will be presenting the Red Cross with a $10,000 donation to keep preparedness front and center throughout Oklahoma communities. The American Red Cross is not a government agency and its funding comes from generous donors like the Oklahoma Tornado Foundation.
