Bloomsburg, PA - On Friday, June 20, 2014, the American Red Cross Chapters of Bloomsburg, Danville Area and Greater Berwick, will celebrate the heroic acts of 13 individuals at the 6th Annual Heroes Breakfast. The breakfast will take place at Monty’s on Bloomsburg University’s upper campus at 7:30 a.m. Proceeds of the Heroes Breakfast will support Red Cross Disaster Relief, Service to Armed Forces, Blood, International Services, and Preparedness Health and Safety programs.
Rita Inklovich, Chapter Executive Director, said, “For the 6th year, the Red Cross Chapters in Bloomsburg, Berwick and Danville are proud to honor members of the community who are ordinary people, performing extraordinary acts which helped to save a life. Without any thought for personal safety, and without hesitation, they reacted to potentially life-threatening incidents. On behalf of our community, we salute and thank them.”
A panel comprised of community leaders, as well as Red Cross leaders and volunteers, selected this year’s recipients after reviewing all public nominations. They selected the following individuals for going beyond their regular call of duty to help someone in need.
