The Red Cross chapters of the Northeast Pennsylvania region have been doing a great deal to help out our service members and veterans this past holiday season. Thousands of holiday cards have been delivered to make our service members and veterans feel appreciated and thanked for all they do our country. The Bradford-Sullivan Counties Chapter has done a fantastic job for the Holiday Mail for Heroes program.
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Sullivan County both held card signing events at their meetings during the week of November 20th. The Ladies Missionary Fellowship of the Independent Baptist Church from Towanda held a card signing event, as well.
Towanda Area School District in Bradford County signed over 600 holiday cards with their faculty and students. Sullivan County Elementary School also held a card signing with their faculty and students.
Gambal Printing and Design in Towanda donated 1,000 printed Red Cross holiday cards to use during the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign. Graciously, an anonymous donor paid for the postage of over 1,300 cards the Bradford-Sullivan Counties collected to be shipped to the Red Cross P.O. Box in Capitol Heights, Maryland where the cards were sorted and screened.
Holiday Mail for Heroes was a major success for the Bradford-Sullivan Counties Chapter this year. Thank you to the Bradford-Sullivan Counties Chapter, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Sullivan County, the Ladies Missionary Fellowship of the Independent Baptist Church, Towanda Area School District, Sullivan County Elementary School, Gambal Printing and Design, the anonymous donor, all who helped with the Holiday Mail for Heroes program, and of course all of our service members and veterans!
