Red Cross Helps Two Families After Central Falls Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing and food needs.

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I, August 12, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping 11 people in two families after a fire Monday on Cross Street in Central Falls.

The Red Cross is helping a family of two adults and six children with emergency food needs. A family of three adults is receiving help with emergency housing and food needs.

Red Cross team members Melissa Shires, Steve Carr, Freddie Silva and Robert and Lori Foti responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

 

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
