PROVIDENCE, R. I., AUGUST 26, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping six people after weekend fires in Pawtucket and South Kingstown.
The Red Cross is helping four adults in three families after a fire Saturday, August 24, on Belmont Street in Pawtucket. The Red Cross is providing two adults in two families with emergency housing and food assistance. A third family of two adults is receiving help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.
The Red Cross is helping three adults with emergency housing, food and clothing needs after a fire on Saturday, August 24 on Columbia Street in South Kingstown.
The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.
American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
