MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – For one day little girls can be a princess in a fairy tale event all to benefit the Coastal SC Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The fifth annual Princess Gala was held Saturday, March 8 held at Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. With a ticket of $25 the princesses, and their adult escorts, have breakfast at Travinia’s Italian Kitchen.  Then it’s off to meet the big princess and the knights from Medieval Times. They spent the next few hours at the Grand 14 Cinema where they meet Prince Charming and watched princess themed-movies. Each princess leaves with a goodie bag and a CocoDots cupcake.

“It’s one of our volunteers’ favorite events,” said Nanci Conley of the Princess Gala.

An estimated 200 people attended this year’s event. The money goes to the Coastal Chapter’s Heroes Campaign that supports Red Cross services. This year’s goal is to raise $200,000 for the Heroes Campaign, Conley said.
