The American Red Cross, Palmetto SC Region, has named Rebecca Jordan as the Executive Director of the Central SC Chapter. Jordan brings over fifteen years of non-profit management experience to the organization.
“I am excited to be back in Columbia where I was raised and attended college,” said Jordan. “My entire career has focused on helping people and I am honored to be part of such a wonderful organization with such dedicated volunteers and a strong history of service to our communities and country.”
Jordan will focus on providing guidance and leadership for the Red Cross in Central SC. She will be working with the Board of Directors to ensure that the Red Cross mission is effectively supported and to foster community engagement with the work of the Red Cross, encouraging citizens to become volunteers, financial donors, recipients of Red Cross services, and blood donors.
Previously, Jordan was the Executive Director for The ALS Association South Carolina Chapter, where she worked with Brigadier General Thomas R. Mikolajcik, USAF (Ret.) to establish the first ALS Chapter in the state to serve those living with Lou Gehrig’s disease and their families. Prior to that, she served as the Executive Director of the Lowcountry Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
