The American Red Cross Serving Central Texas’ signature annual fundraiser and gala, Luminaria, will take place Friday, April 10th, 2015 at the Four Seasons Austin. Individual tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available Here.
“Luminaria presents an opportunity to celebrate the generous donors and partners who make the work of the Red Cross possible in Central Texas, while garnering support and funding to continue disaster response efforts, safety training and military services across the region,” said Emily Moreland, Luminaria co-chair. “Plus, we look forward to recognizing some amazing leaders in this community with special awards for their service and support of the Red Cross.”
Each year at this signature event, the Red Cross honors individuals and organizations that have been instrumental in implementing our mission in the Central Texas Community. This year’s award recipients are:
• Lady Bird Johnson Humanitarian of the Year Award: Ann Showers Butler
Presented by Luci Baines Johnson
• Public Partner of the Year: IBM Employees
• Greg Coleman Tribute Award: Mike Wadino
“Ann Showers Butler’s philanthropic contributions to the Austin community have added immeasurably to the health and resiliency of our city,” said Marty McKellips, CEO of the American Red Cross, Central & South Texas Region. “We are proud to honor her work with this award, made especially significant by the fact that Luci Baines Johnson will present Ms. Butler with this special recognition in her mother’s name during the gala.”
The gala will raise funds for the American Red Cross Serving Central Texas’ disaster preparedness, response and recovery programs and services in our community. Luminaria is co-chaired by Emily Moreland, Red Cross Board Member and Owner of Moreland Properties; Kevin Terrazas, Red Cross Board Chair Elect and Attorney at Weisbart Springer Hayes; and Patricia Terrazas, Value Consultant at Oracle.
