The Board of Directors of the American Red Cross Serving Greater San Antonio, Texas today announced the selection of a new Executive Director. Monica Reyes, a San Antonio native with more than 20 years of experience in non-profit and corporate communications leadership, has joined the Chapter in this role.
“The American Red Cross has a great history of convening the San Antonio community to help during urgent local needs, in times of great disasters worldwide, and in support of our military service members and their families,” said Board Chairman Gregg Muenster. “We are so pleased to welcome Monica, and we know that there is no better individual to lead us in delivering upon these lifesaving services in the community.”
Monica has worked in the non-profit, PR agency and corporate sectors with the following organizations: United Way of Metropolitan Dallas; Temerlin-McClain Public Relations; Capital One; United Services Automobile Association (USAA); City Year San Antonio and also served as director of public relations for Ornelas & Partners, an independent Dallas-based Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations Agency.
Most recently, Monica served as Director of Volunteers for the VNA of Texas Meals on Wheels program and as Manager of Community and Public Affairs for Fluor Corporation in Dallas.
“Through my work in the non-profit communities in San Antonio and Dallas over the past two decades, I have seen the great work of the Red Cross first hand—through volunteers, donors and community partners,” said Monica. “I look forward to coming back home to San Antonio and building upon the strong foundation of humanitarian work in this community.”
The Board of Directors will host an open house to introduce Ms. Reyes to the community on Tuesday, December 9th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 3642 East Houston Street in San Antonio.
