The American Red Cross of Greater New York is proud to once again participate in the ING New York Marathon!
Around the world, across the country, and down the street; the Red Cross is there attending to the needs of those affected by disasters. With compassion and care the Red Cross and our network of volunteers provide shelter, food, and emotional support. As the nation’s largest supplier of donated blood, and provider of lifesaving CPR and First Aid training classes, Red Cross is as focused on preparing the public for times of trouble as we are at providing relief following a disaster. And today we invite you to join us in our lifesaving mission by participating as a runner for Team Red Cross.
This year will be particularly special for Team Red Cross, as we honor the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, which has significantly affected New York City and directly impacted the NYC Marathon last year. Red Cross continues to lead the way in immediate and long-term recovery from Hurricane Sandy, and we can’t do it without your help. By joining Team Red Cross, you are supporting disaster relief and recovery efforts, as well as Red Cross services nationally and internationally.
For a limited number of runners, we will provide guaranteed entry into the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon. The spaces are limited and runners who participate must commit to a fundraising goal—but you won’t do it alone! As a Team Red Cross runner, you will receive the following benefits:
