2013 Red Cross Hometown Hero Awards

.

As a community leader in emergency preparedness and response, the American Red Cross annually presents the Hometown Hero Awards to those residents of Carroll, Harrison and Tuscarawas Counties who have had an extraordinary impact on the community or have demonstrated the values of courage, character, humanity, or personal initiative.

The Hometown Hero Awards is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of humanitarianism by honoring the everyday heroes of our hometown communities. Members of the community are invited to nominate a local hero for consideration. Honorees will be selected by a committee of individuals from our community, including former Hometown Hero recipients.

The concept for the Hometown Hero Awards grew out of a desire to develop a special event that is closely related to the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross. What better way to celebrate this spirit of humanitarianism than by honoring those individuals who have shown courage, kindness and/or unselfish character through their actions.

Members of the community are invited to nominate a local hero for consideration. Honorees will be selected by a committee of individuals from our community, including former Hometown Hero recipients.

Then join us on April 18th at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center-Myron Philips Hall to recognize the 2013 Hero Award recipients. For more information contact the chapter at 330-343-8633.
