ARC 101: Disaster Action Team Training Weekend

Did you know every 8 minutes in the U.S., Red Cross volunteers are helping people affected by disaster? These disasters force people out of their homes and without the essential needs and comforts to which we are accustomed. The American Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) is on call around the clock so we can be there for our neighbors in their times of need.

Mid-Florida Region volunteers respond to an average of three fire calls per day. Our dedicated volunteers are sent to the scene of the fire to provide people with immediate emergency needs, such as food, clothing, and shelter. Most importantly, our volunteers provide hope for people that there is someone who cares and can help them begin planning for their recovery.

Due to the overwhelming number of calls we receive in the Mid-Florida Region, we are constantly in need of new trained DAT members. Sign up TODAY to become a Red Cross DAT volunteer!
