The American Red Cross is proud to host the 8th Annual BIG B*A*S*H! This event annually enables us to raise funds to provide relief for victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in Iowa.
The 8th Annual BIG B*A*S*H will take place Friday, May 3, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cedar Rapids Country Club. The event consists of a military-themed dinner, live and silent auctions, with live entertainment. The tradition also continues with our best costume awards for Casual/jeans, Camouflage shirts/pants, Military fatigues, medical scrubs, Hawaiian shirts and Dog tags/beads!
Fundraisers like the BIG B*A*S*H are important to carry out the vital work of your American Red Cross. Each year the American Red Cross, whose total workforce is 96% percent volunteers, responds immediately to about 90 disasters in Eastern Iowa, including house fires, tornadoes, and other natural and man-made disasters. We also educate thousands of individuals in important lifesaving skills like babysitting, CPR, First Aid, AED use, aquatics, and more! Additionally, we support our military by sending over 200 emergency communications from their family members each year. With your support for this year’s BIG B*A*S*H, we can provide these lifesaving services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
