Disaster Training Institute - March 23-24, Havre

Red Cross volunteer instructs class

Disasters happen. The Red Cross responds to a disaster every 8 minutes on average. In fiscal year 2012 alone, Montana Red Cross conducted 174 separate operations across the state, from wildfires to floods to house fires.

Disasters can happen to you, your friends, your neighbors, your entire community. Are you ready? Is your community?

Get Ready Montana/Ready Campus is a joint collaboration between American Red Cross and Montana Campus Compact to get Montanans prepared for disasters.

The Get Ready Montana/Ready Campus Disaster Training Institute on March 23-24 in Havre will prepare participants in two ways:

  • Individual participants will learn the necessary skills to prepare for and mitigate the impact of disasters on their families.
  • Additional disaster response training will qualify participants to become Red Cross volunteers and help their communities during disasters such as house fires, wildfires, winter storms, and floods.
  • Complete our online form to register for this training. Please make sure you select Disaster Training Institute in Havre in the drop-down menu. Registration for this two-day event is required; you need to plan to be in attendance on both days when registering for this program.
