Women Who Care, A Leadership Breakfast, is one of the largest women’s networking events in Boston. The event was developed to help raise awareness and garner support for the critical, programs provided by the American Red Cross of Massachusetts. Each year, we, honor a woman (or women) who exemplifies the mission of the American Red Cross with our, Humanitarian Award.
Past honorees include Ethel Kennedy, Philanthropist and Rory Kennedy, Filmmaker; The Honorable Margaret H. Marshall Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts; Partners in Health Accepted by Ophelia Dahl, Executive Director; Linda Dorcena Forry, 12th Suffolk District State Representative; and Marie St. Fleur Chief of Advocacy and Strategic Investment, City of Boston.
The General's connection to the Red Cross is a long and proud one: in 2002 she was one of the 15 nurses selected by the American Red Cross and Nursing Spectrum to receive national recognition as "Nurse Hero." She also serves as the Army’s liaison to the Red Cross SAF (Service to the Armed Forces) Advisory Board. As a very special element, Joanne Patton, widow of Major General George S.
