11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Panel: In the Trenches and By their Side: Provision of Disaster Mental Health Services and Military Outreach

These experienced DMH presenters will update resilience models, concepts of self-care, and present data on stressors and coping strategies, including a segment on serving military populations, and the challenges and rewards of Red Cross volunteering.

1 - 2 p.m. Orientation to Red Cross and volunteer opportunities.
2 - 5 p.m. Volunteer training class: Foundations of Disaster Mental Health
This three hour class is a primary requirement for Red Cross DMH volunteers.
Base fee is $25.
There is an additional $7 fee for psychologists who want CEs. Please send a check for $7 made out to California Psychological Association or CPA to Diane Bridgeman, Ph.D. 1362 Pacific Ave., Suite 210, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.This course meets the qualifications for continuing education credit for three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon, for a total of 6 CEs for MFTs and/or LCSWs/and or LPCCs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Science: PCE #1972 and for RNs (with ANCC accreditation) BRN provider #CEP 8528 Provider Name: American Red Cross Bay Area. Psychologists approved for a total of 6 CEs.
