For the past 30 years, the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter has been honoring a local citizen for his/her outstanding corporate leadership and commitment to our region's civic and charitable organizations. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization and the largest volunteer movement providing relief to victims of disasters and teaching emergency preparedness. Right here in Philadelphia, the local Red Cross touches the lives of two out of three people every day with lifesaving services. It is only fitting to honor a Philadelphia citizen who has made a significant impact on the welfare of the Greater Philadelphia region.
This year, we are proud to honor Howard Stoeckel and Wawa as the 2012 Citizen of the Year.
