Each year, the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter hosts the Lifesaver Awards Breakfast to honor local heroes who have exhibited extraordinary efforts to help to those in critical need. The Red Cross recognizes individuals in the 10 categories.
Winners have been selected for the 2014 program, and will be featured at the annual Lifesaver Awards Breakfast in March. To nominate a Lifesaver for the 2015 Lifesaver program, please submit your form online by November 1, 2014. You can download a form and mail it in, or, submit your nomination online.
LIFESAVER AWARD CATEGORIESDISASTER RELIEF: Presented to an individual(s) who exhibited heroic efforts in response to a natural disaster or emergency situation, providing relief or lifesaving to victims.LIFESAVING ORGANIZATION: Presented to an organization or company whose generous donation of time, money and/or supplies helped save many lives in times of disaster or other emergency situation. FIREFIGHTER: Presented to a professional or volunteer firefighter(s), including dispatchers, whose lifesaving actions were heroic above and beyond the call of duty. WATER SAFETY: Presented to an individual(s) who went above and beyond the call of duty to respond to an aquatic emergency.GOOD SAMARITAN YOUTH: Presented to an outstanding youth who courageously responded to a potentially life-threatening emergency.GOOD SAMARITAN ADULT: Presented to an outstanding adult who courageously responded to a potentially life-threatening emergency.BLOOD SERVICES: Presented to a blood or platelet donor who has given generously and selflessly, responding to the need for blood and/or platelets over a significant period of time.LAW ENFORCEMENT: Presented to a professional police officer(s) or related law enforcement official(s), including dispatchers with a duty to respond, who exhibited heroism either in response to an emergency potentially life-threatening situation or through such on-going responses.MILITARY: Presented to an active, reserve, ROTC or retired member of the armed forces, or military supporter, who acted heroically above and beyond the call of duty.HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL: Presented to a doctor or nurse who exhibited extraordinary response to an emergency or life-threatening situation or on-going situations.
