Clara Barton, a visionary who was inspired by her work on the battlefield during the Civil War, joined the International Red Cross movement and founded the American Red Cross in 1881. In 1914, just as WWI began, local visionaries saw the need for a local chapter of the American Red Cross to be located in Colorado. Since then, Red Cross volunteers from Colorado have touched the lives of countless people down the street, across the country and around the world.
Join us as we celebrate the legacy of these original visionaries, honor the contribution of local Red Cross volunteers, and ensure that the American Red Cross can continue to deliver needed services in Colorado for another 100 years. You can play a part in Red Cross history and be a visionary for the future of the American Red Cross in Colorado!
