Volunteers Needed for Rose Parade Red Cross First Aid Stations

Red Cross Rose Parade

As the year comes to a close our thoughts turn to the holidays, the New Year and in particular (for many of us) the Rose Parade and first aid stations. The Red Cross is looking for qualified area residents to volunteer at Red Cross First Aid Stations for the 2013 Rose Parade. We invite you to fill out an application and attend the orientation scheduled for Saturday, December 1.

Red Cross volunteers, including Emergency Responders, EMTs, paramedics, nurses and doctors, come together each year to provide first aid for the Tournament of Roses Parade, as well as events preceding and following the parade, including the Rose Bowl game. First aid stations are set up along the parade route and related venues to provide immediate, temporary care for injuries and sudden illnesses.

Individuals not certified who want to participate in the program may apply for an administrative or behind the scene position.

First Aid volunteer applications are available by email: Roxanne.Schorbach@redcross.org and should be submitted prior to November 29th if possible but can be brought to the orientation on December 1st. Copies of current certifications are required and should be submitted with your application. You must be an American Red Cross volunteer to apply as a Red Cross First Aid volunteer.
