On October 23rd, the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter will host its 3rd Annual Community Hero Breakfast to recognize and celebrate an ordinary individual who has acted heroically under extraordinary circumstances. This person has demonstrated the core mission of the American Red Cross through a selfless act of humanitarian compassion. This person is a true hero.
Our 2013 Community Hero award recipient is Lindsay Dolan, a high school senior at De Anza Middle College. This is Lindsay’s story… It was a football Sunday at the Dolan house: Lindsay and her best friend were doing homework upstairs while Dad barbequed and Mom watched the 49er game. Suddenly Lindsay heard her father call for her using a tone she’d never heard before. Lindsay frantically ran downstairs to find her mother unconscious and unresponsive. By all professional accounts, what Lindsay did next not only saved her mother’s life but it also saved her brain and motor functions. On October 23rd, you’ll hear this incredible young lady’s story.
