    Congratulations to our 2014 Heroes!

Lifesaving Youth Hero: Rose Marie Munoz

Rose remained calm when her mother screamed for help as her husband started having seizures in the middle of the night. Rose came into the room, immediately removed her 3 year old brother from the situation, called 911, and waited at the front door until emergency responders arrived.

    Lifesaving Adult Hero: Janell Rubbo

In the middle of her VTA shift driving the Line 64 route, Janell saved the life of a 65 year old unconscious woman by calling 911 and per forming chest compressions for 7-9 minutes until paramedics arrived.

    Community Hero: Terry Keisic

An Emergency Response Team member at Applied Materials, Terry didn’t think twice when someone at the City of Campbell’s Community Center outdoor track had gone into full cardiac arrest and was not breathing. He took charge and gave CPR until the paramedics arrived.

    Technology Hero: AdoptMeApp

Founder of the AdoptMe app, Cynthia Typaldos and her team, have created this social networking tool to connect prospect families to shelter animals. It is a great way for getting dogs and cats adopted quickly to make room for more animals at the shelter itself.

Members of the AdoptMe App team: Cynthia Typaldos (Founder), Rob Blackwelder, Nancy Cook, Bhanu Iyer, Helena Merk, Frederic Ranft, and Frank Spies.
