Preparedness Volunteer Training Academy

Preparedness Volunteer Training Academy

During this two-day training, you will learn everything you need to be able to deliver lifesaving preparedness trainings for key audiences in our community. This is an excellent opportunity for people who enjoy public speaking and educating adults and/or children.

Breakfast and lunch will be served both days.

Day 1 – 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, April 16: Learn to train adults, organizations and the business community through the Red Cross Ready Rating program, Be Red Cross Ready Training, and the Home Fire Campaign.

Day 2 – 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, April 17: Learn to deliver The Pillowcase Training for elementary-age children. This training teaches children about disasters, fire safety, and how they can be prepared for emergencies.

Participants can choose to attend one day of their choice or both days. For example, if you prefer to work with adults, you can sign up just for Saturday; if you prefer working with youth, sign up for Sunday. If you’re willing to volunteer across all programs, we would love to see you both days!
