The 2017 American Red Cross Fire & Ice Ball is Northeast Ohio’s premier black-tie (with a splash of red) gala, celebrating the important role of the Red Cross in our community. This is one of the region’s most anticipated and well-attended events. The Ball is attended by approximately 500 of the region’s philanthropic and corporate leaders, raising more than $500,000 to support the important work of the Red Cross in Northeast Ohio.
This year’s theme highlights the importance of fire prevention and safety information that the Red Cross provides to our community. We respond to an average of 3 home fires a night throughout the 22 counties we serve. Proceeds from this event will allow us to continue to educate Northeast Ohio families about fire safety and help us protect local homes through Operation Save-A-Life, our amazing program that installs smoke alarms – for free!
This year the recipient of the 2016 Humanitarian Award is one of our community’s most extraordinary leaders, Chairman and CEO of KeyCorp, Beth Mooney. First presented in 1993, the Humanitarian Award is bestowed to those who embody the spirit of the American Red Cross through their contributions to the welfare and quality of life of the residents of Northeast Ohio. Sponsors at the silver level and above will be invited to join the Humanitarian’s Reception on the evening of the event.
