Clara Barton, a visionary who was inspired by her work on the battlefield during the Civil War, joined the International Red Cross movement and founded the American Red Cross in 1881. In 1916, just as WWI began, local visionaries saw the need for a local chapter of the American Red Cross to be established in Philadelphia.
Since then, Red Cross volunteers from Philadelphia have touched the lives of countless people down the street, across the country and around the world.
Join us, as we not only recognize and celebrate the achievements of women in our community, but celebrate the 100 year legacy of these original visionaries, including our founder Clara Barton, at this year’s 22nd annual Spectrum Awards.
