The American Red Cross and Hamilton County are teaming up to help prepare the tri-state for disasters with their Preparedness Month campaign, 5 to Get Ready; which will show residents how easy it is to build their own disaster kit using items they have in their home or are under $5.00 at local area stores.
The 5 to Get Ready campaign will kick-off on Saturday, August 23, 2014 with a Disaster Preparedness Fair at the Cincinnati Area Chapter (2111 Dana Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45207). This free, family oriented event will teach attendees how to assemble their disaster kit and provide families with tips on how to be prepared for a disaster. Over 30 agencies in the Tri-State community will be present to exhibit how they respond during and after a disaster and also to show families how they can prepare and be safe during disaster situations. Individuals will have the opportunity to build their own family disaster kit, tour and learn about the American Red Cross Response Vehicles.
