On October 19, 2013, local singer- songwriter, Tim Gebard, a native of Springfield, will host a benefit for the local chapter of the American Red Cross at the historic Clifton Opera House. Gebard, a long time volunteer for the Montgomery and Greene County Chapters of the American Red Cross, will showcase a eight-piece live band, spotlighting legendary local musicians Junior Smith, Daniel "Jazzy" Cook, Sara Kasten, Aaron Gebard, Jay Madewell, Mia Toles Pickard, and Steve Makofka.
Tim Gebard is an international award winning singer-songwriter from Dayton, Ohio. Compared vocally to Neil Young, Tim Gebard's music covers multiple genres, including acoustic, blues, country, country rock, jazz, and elements of R&B and gospel. He has completed two CDs- “Unbroken Hearts” and “Closer to Gone”, and is currently working on a soon-to-be-released EP, “Better Angels”.
“The funding generated in this show will stay with the local chapter, supporting Montgomery, Greene, and Clark counties. As a group, we really enjoyed the 2012 benefit at Clifton Opera House so, I thought, why not do it again?” A DVD of the 2012 benefit, “Tim Gebard @ Clifton Opera House”, will be available at the upcoming show. At the time of this release, sponsors of the event include Taller Trees Music and Jennifer | foto.
