September is National Preparedness Month, and the Red Cross in Oregon and Southwest Washington has been invited by Northwest Natural to partner on a series of “Get Ready!” events around the state. Each event will feature safety preparedness demonstrations, kids’ activities, tours and materials from local emergency response organizations, all in an effort to help community members be prepared for anything from medical emergencies to natural disasters. In addition, Northwest Natural will be providing its signature barbeque lunch!

“This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in corporate and community engagement that helps to inform and inspire families to be prepared for any type of disaster,” said Francisco Ianni, director of preparedness for the American Red Cross Cascades Region. “We look forward to sharing information, tools and resources to individuals and families throughout the region.”

All Get Ready! events are free and open to the general public. No registration is necessary.
