Red Cross To Host Everyday Heroes Awards Breakfast

Help the American Red Cross Recognize Community Heroes

The American Red Cross Lackawanna Chapter will host an Everyday Heroes Awards Breakfast on October 16, 2013 from 8 to 10 A.M. at the Genetti Manor in Dickson City, PA. This awe-inspiring event recognizes ordinary people who have performed the extraordinary deed of saving a life. Congressman Matt Cartwright and his wife, Attorney Marion Munley Cartwright will serve as honorary co-chairs of the event.

Those being honored include: Archbald Police Office Brian J. Munley, who performed CPR and AED to revive a woman who was not breathing; Gus Catalano and Robert Rutkowski of Lackawanna Ambulance, who rescued a child from a storm drain; the crew of Geisinger's Life Flight who save lives on a daily basis; and James Beavers of Scott Township, who used his Red Cross training to resuscitate two dogs that had been rescued from a burning structure.

Additional awards include: Mary Marrara of Jermyn, who will be awarded the Community Service Award and Steve Kepic of Wendy's, who will be awarded the Corporate Good Citizen Award.
